Logos Banners

new article- Making the best business logos
Is it really important to make a logo?
If you successfully design and use a corporate logo it will increase sales and profits by building or enhancing your corporate brand recognition and awareness. Not only will it generate interest in your company products, it can and does produce a great first impression. Most buyers choose one similar product over another based on look and feel. The business logo is a big part of that.
Investing in a corporate logo
Every major corporation in the world has designed and built a corporate logo. Usually they tailor their corporate identity after they have built their corporate vision and products. Why? Because the corporate branding is the best lasting impression of the company.
How to make the best corporate logo
Ok. You are sold. You want to make the best logo possible for your corporate identity. Anyone can make a basic logo, but the perfect ones are the best representation of your corporate mandate and ideals. Try to be appealing to a generic audience and not too racially or demographically isolated.
The corporate colors
Choose a set of corporate colors. Normally the best designed are using no more than three basic colors, not including black and white. There are two reasons for this. One, it makes it more recognizable. Two, it is easier to print hard materials at any future date.
The corporate fonts and styles
Think about the image your product/company is trying to portray. Look at the corporate logo for Toys-r-Us®. The company chose childish simple fonts that the children will recognize. The colors are bright and fun and the R is reversed and made to look like a toy elephant. Great imagery!
Using Symbols in your corporate identity
Looking again at the Toys-r-Us logo notice the R reversed. The Babys-r-Us® logo is done with similar fonts and style to further build on the branding. This is a proven strategy from the most successful corporations in the world! Remember Apple computers? Who doesn’t remember the logo from Apple computers? It is an apple. Why? To subconsciously portray knowledge and wisdom.

The Logos Reader $30 Founded in 2002, Logos: A Journal of Modern Society and Culture was established in response to the increasing erosion of a left political culture and the new possibilities for international political engagement and cooperation produced by the Internet. Many of the best known intellectual representatives of what might be termed a “rational radicalism” soon served as the core group for this new online journal that has reached about four million readers. The Logos Reader brings together the most influential and controversial work to appear in the journal. In its pages, writers of exceptional stature such as Stanley Aronowitz, Ulrich Beck, Drucilla Cornell, Fred Dallmayr, J?rgen Habermas, Douglas Kellner, and Eric Rouleau articulate liberal and socialist values even as they retain theoretical viewpoints influenced by critical theory. The contributors deal with some of the most pressing political issues of our age, including transnational developments, U.S. foreign policy, the Iraqi War, the plight of the Palestinians, and the domestic concerns currently dominating American politics. With themes that speak to the most pertinent and enduring issues of a post-9/11 culture, the essays in The Logos Reader represent the best of modern liberal thought and will influence contemporary political discourse. |

Logos [LP] $14.98 Bradford Cox was a virtual song machine during the time between Deerhunter’s CRYPTOGRAMS and the Atlas Sound’s LOGOS, churning out officially released material as well as plenty of songs only available on his blog. Over that span of time, he became a finer and more fluid songwriter, and his music emerged from the experimental fog of his earlier work just enough to give listeners tantalizing glimpses of almost ridiculously catchy songs. LOGOS keeps this push-pull between challenging and charming, yet Cox’s second solo album still feels more experimental than Deerhunter, if only because he seems completely unfettered by any kind of rules or concerns about consistency. These songs barely sound like each other, yet they all sound like Cox. LOGOS comes into focus slowly with its first three songs. “The Light That Failed”’s hazy atmospheres slip effortlessly into “An Orchid”’s spectral recall of MICROCASTLE’s psych-pop, but it’s “Walkabout,” Cox’s irresistibly sunny collaboration with Animal Collective and Panda Bear’s Noah Lennox, that announces that the album has truly arrived–it’s as sudden, and satisfying, as tuning in a perfect pop song from radio static. From there, the album hops from sound to sound, ranging from acoustic rambles like “Criminals” to glitchy confections like the kaleidoscopic “Washington School.” However, LOGOS’ most striking moment is “Quick Canal.” Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier lends her instantly recognizable vocals, which pile atop spiralling electronics that stretch for nine minutes, yet somehow feel much shorter than that. And while the album is more abstract than most of Cox’s work with Deerhunter, it still favors his subversive pop side far more than his first Atlas Sound album, the insular laptop collages of LET THE BLIND LEAD THOSE WHO CAN SEE BUT CANNOT FEEL. The sugary innocence of ’50s and ’60s pop remains a major influence here, especially on “Sheila,” which boasts a chorus (“we’ll die alone together”) that is equally sweet and unsettling. Even though LOGOS isn’t as polished sounding as some of Cox’s other releases, it’s still captivating in its relatively raw state. These songs are nearly as wide-ranging and comprehensive as an actual atlas, but Cox keeps charting new territory. |
